Last year I studied Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring to master’s level with Glyndwr University. As part of my studies I came across this brilliant free to use on line Johari Window. I include here a link to my own, so that you can see how it works before doing your own. The idea is that you click through and choose 6 words that you believe best describe me – the Elaine you know. Then, I suggest you do one for yourself and email the link out to friends, staff, clients any one you know who will be willing to participate. The purpose of the Johari window is to help you to understand a) yourself and what you believe to be true about you, b) what others see in you that you maybe don’t see in yourself c) areas for development, e.g. areas you see in yourself that others don’t see. It’s a great self reflection and personal development tool.
